January 2016 Joel Skillingstead took the Pursuit of Excellence at the Seattle Center in 1991 along with 300 others. During the program, he noticed the happy smiles behind him at the Team Assistant tables and thought, “I want to do that.”
During The Advancement Of Excellence he became clear that starting his own company was ideal for him and his growing family. So he got into action and formed his premiere custom deck building business, West Coast Decks. Talk about tangible, measurable, results!
After completing The Excellence Series, Joel served as a Team Assistant and Team Captain for many programs. He is now applying his knowledge as a Program Leader for the Assisting Workshop, preparing graduates to be top notch Team Assistants like himself. Joel believes that “Assisting is a great way to enjoy graduate work, and a great way to give back."
